The Deepest Question
What Is ?
For three centuries, physics has reshaped our understanding of time. Each revolution revealed more — and left a deeper mystery.
The Problem of Time
Newton
1687 — Absolute Time
Time as universal background. A clock ticking identically everywhere. A stage upon which physics unfolds — but never a question of what time itself actually is.

The Problem of Time
Einstein
1905/1915 — Flexible Time
Time bends with gravity and speed. Spacetime becomes a unified fabric that stretches and compresses. But time is still a coordinate — a stage, not an actor. The question of what time fundamentally is remains unanswered.
The Quantum Problem
Schrödinger
1926 — Time as Parameter
In quantum mechanics, space gets quantised — but time doesn't. It remains a background variable, an external clock the equation ticks against. The asymmetry deepens the mystery.
The Deepest Question
Wheeler & DeWitt
1967 — Time Disappears
Combine general relativity with quantum mechanics and time vanishes from the equation entirely. The universe, at its most fundamental level, appears timeless. This is the problem of time — the deepest open question in physics.
What if time isn't missing from the equation?
What if it's the beginning?
Explore the Journey
Quantum Light Science is a new framework for understanding time, space, and reality. The journey is unfolding across books, a podcast, and a growing body of work.
What Is Quantum Light Science?
Quantum Light Science (QLS) is a new scientific framework founded by Grace Gold that unifies quantum mechanics and classical physics through a fundamental re-examination of the nature of time. Where existing physics has treated time as either an absolute background (Newton), a relative dimension of spacetime (Einstein), or eliminated it entirely from the equations of quantum gravity (Wheeler-DeWitt), Quantum Light Science proposes a new understanding: Quantum Light Time.
Quantum Light Time addresses several of the deepest unresolved questions in physics — including the problem of time in quantum gravity, what happens to time at the black hole singularity, the Hawking information paradox, and the apparent incompatibility between quantum mechanics and general relativity. Rather than treating time as something that disappears at the quantum scale, QLS re-examines it as foundational to reality itself.
The framework is being presented through a series of books beginning with The Truth of Time, the Journey with Time podcast, and a growing body of content exploring the implications of this new science for physics, technology, and humanity.
